A Black Tie Affair

Jen Howell of NewvintagephotographybyJen came to me to do a styled photo shoot last year. Jen and I met at Wine and Roses a few months earlier when we worked the same wedding. She is an amazing photographer and I couldn't wait to collaborate with her. We met several times and came up with four different wedding themes. I reached out to Kimberly Mullen of Herlife magazine, Tammie Dimas from Bliss Bridal salon for dresses and accessories, Ester Bruno of E.M.Pedrini designs for jewelry, Tuxedos of Lodi for menswear and Jessica Van Ruiten for hair and makeup. The models that participated are cousins and friends of mine. The vintage fur blazer belongs to my mother and the props and furniture belong to me. Herlife magazine published "A Black Tie Affair" as the trendsetter for the January 2014 issue. More wedding themes will be published in the coming months and I can't wait to share those as well! Enjoy!

Lincoln Center Bridal Faire

I had the great honor of designing Bliss Bridal Salon for the Lincoln Center Strolling Bridal Faire on Saturday February 22nd. Tammie Dimas, the owner of Bliss, asked me to design her space with a theme in mind. Vintage wedding themes are all the rage in the last few years, and this year vintage seems to be a favorite again. The decor at Bliss is normally black and white with a Parisian feel to it. In order to make the salon look completely different, I removed all of the wall hangings and most of the furniture. I brought in a vintage settee and matching Louis XV style chair, a side table and rented gold chiavari chairs to complete the look. There were two main focal points when you walked through the door. A manzanita tree mounted on a wine barrel with a base of florals and hanging crystals, and live garland and flowers totaling 15 feet flanking the gigantic gold mirror on the back wall. I also brought in a vintage blue velvet settee for the sign in area and placed a coordinating bouquet on top as well flowers on the dress form.
I had a table outside the salon with another large centerpiece on it and six very different bouquets for prospective brides to touch or hold and for the live models to carry.

Thank you to Tammie Dimas at Bliss Bridal Salon for such an amazing opportunity and experience, I enjoyed every minute! To Jen Howell with NewvintagephotographybyJen, your photos are breathtaking and I appreciate you always coming to take pictures of my're one of the best in your arena as well! Thank you to my fabulous assistant for this event, Taylor Kininmonth, for helping me get ready ahead of time, helping with installations the night before and working the event as well! You have such a knack for this business girl! And to my sister Audrey Dietrich, for all of her hard work designing and printing all of my promotional items. You are so talented and I appreciate everything you do for me!

A Modern meets Vintage affair

Audrey and Joseph Dietrich were married on June 8, 2013. The ceremony and reception began just a few hours before sunset at the bride's grandparents estate in Lodi, CA. The reception was buffet style with small plates and an oyster bar. Along with pouring the brides family wines there was an abundance of top shelf alcohol and beer. There were long tables to sit as well as 3 custom seating areas with lounge furniture. The night was full of nonstop dancing, family traditions galore and from what I overheard guests saying, "it was the best wedding they'd ever been to!" Congratulations to the greatest couple I've ever known!
